PBEC Appoints John Teng as Chief Representative, Greater China & East Asia

John Teng joins the Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) with a distinguished career defined by cross-sector leadership. He currently serves as a Board Director at Viva—Together for Children in Hong Kong and is the former National Director for World Vision China, where he also oversaw global strategic funding as a member of the World Vision Partnership Resource Allocation Committee.

Prior to his humanitarian leadership, John was in international investment banking across the United Kingdom and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Having held senior roles at Nomura, UBS Warburg, Morgan Stanley, and Bangkok Bank, he brings deep expertise in capital markets, fixed income, and risk management. His career is marked by a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory and economic landscapes throughout the Pacific Basin.

John holds a degree in Biochemical Engineering from University College London (UCL) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM). His unique blend of institutional financial acumen and high-level stakeholder engagement makes him a pivotal link for PBEC’s strategic initiatives across Greater China and the wider region.
