Ir Dr Anne Kerr OBE appointed to the PBEC Board of Directors – Aug 2025

We are delighted to announce that Ir Dr Anne Kerr OBE has been appointed to the board of directors of the Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), 

Anne brings to PBEC her tremendous experience, where she has recently held various roles and positions within Mott MacDonald, including Managing Director of Greater China and Asia Director for Growth, and currently is their appointed Asia Executive Adviser. She has over 35 years of professional experience gained through working across over 30 countries. Her current role connects governments, agencies, key clients and colleagues across Asia and globally. Her roles within Mott MacDonald include serving on the Shareholders Committee for over a decade, being a member of the Strategy and Policy Committee and Audit and Risk Committee, and a member of the Remunerations and Equity Committee (a subcommittee of the Group Board) as well as the Nominations Committee which she chaired for 3 years (2021-2024).

To complement her role within Mott McDonald, she is an active member of the HK Institute of Directors and a Senate Member of FIDIC Academy, where she is Dean of Faculty of Values (2022-2025). Anne is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and was appointed Honorary Advisor in 2021. She is also a Fellow of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and served as a committee member for the Environment Division in the early days of its establishment. She was initially a graduate member of the Institution of Public Health Engineers which was subsumed into the Chartered Institute of Water and Environment and became a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, was elected as Chair of CIWEM HK as well as serving as an International Council Member of the Board of Trustees under UK Law. In recognition of her contributions to global discussions on Cities and the imperatives of climate resilience and urban challenges, Anne was invited to join the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Given her long connection and contribution to the infrastructure and development of Hong Kong and beyond, Anne was appointed to the HK Trade Development Council as an Infrastructure Adviser where she contributed to the discussions on among other aspects, the Belt and Road initiatives.

Anne was Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce HK 2022-2024, vice Chair 2018-2022, and was on the Board of Directors, and chaired sub-committees for more than a quarter of a century. She was also on the European Chamber of Commerce Board as an Alternate Director for a period of 8 years, an Ex-officio Member of China British Business Council and an Ex-officio Member of Hong Kong Association all in connection with the Chamber of Commerce.

Her professional experience includes the full cycle of planning through design and development and implementation of developments across more than 30 countries, primarily in Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. Original specialisms of water and environmental engineering design and management with planning and development of resources, evolved into planning for resilient and sustainable developments, has directed and implemented a series of sustainable development goals and frameworks/roadmaps for national government and a range of clients across the Middle East and Asia. She initiated and led Mott MacDonald’s global Cities initiative, a pan sectoral business enabler for the delivery of services from visioning through to optimisation and transformation of communities be these smart, resilient, future, eco, inclusive intelligent, regenerative, classical or other types of cities, and is currently leading the Asia Growth Pathway for Asia Transport one of the key growth platforms for the Group bringing the best of Mott McDonald with focus on delivering excellence.
