“After engaging with Dr. Morgan extensively over the past few months, we mutually agreed it was good timing to bring him into the PBEC family. Dr. Morgan comes with a clear direction, broad leadership network, engagement initiatives and subject matter expertise that compliments the PBEC in the Mekong Region. Despite Vietnam’s recent economic and domestic political headwinds, it is still forecast to grow 5.4% in 2024 by World Bank and is proving to be surprisingly resilient. There are however a number of policy areas that the Government need to urgently address and are actively looking at, to bolster diversity in the overall domestic economy to assist with long term development and support  for more homegrown Vietnamese brands seeking to go international. Small Vietnamese business owners have not necessarily enjoyed their fair share of the fruits of the countries recent labors, but they are equally important to its overall economic well-being and health. I am therefore delighted to welcome Dr. Morgan to PBEC to our growing presence and expertise in-country that is accessible to all our members, which further strengthens our outreach across Vietnam and Laos in particular.” Said Michael Walsh PBEC CEO.
